This course teaches the foundational techniques that I use in my Neuro-Emotional coaching modality. This is the work that I do to help rewire people’s responses to challenges in their lives – so they can live with more freedom, uninhibited joy, love and connection.

Each session will include a core teaching that will illuminate why you struggle with certain people and situations in your life, why you struggle with yourself – and, most importantly, what to do about it. 

We will be learning to utilise our powerful neurochemistry to rewire the responses we have to anything that feels difficult, overwhelming or completely impossible in our lives.

Including:

  • How to change unpleasant habitual patterns with our spouses & partners 

  • How to communicate with family members without falling into wells of resentment, shame, anger or fear

  • Helping our children cope with overwhelming emotions

  • Working with our own emotional reactions that feel too much for us

  • How to support someone when they are in the midst of overwhelm

  • How to help yourself through panic attacks, rage spirals or chronic stress

  • Understand why we have different responses when under stress 

I will also talk you through practical exercises so you know how to respond in your own life.

This workshop is taught in person in La Herradura.

We all have the potential to be free, joyful, productive and happy humans. What can limit our lives is the way we have learnt to respond and cope with stress, trauma and our daily emotional patterns. 

In this workshop, through gentle emotional processing we will untangle habits and rewire how you respond to the people and issues in your life that are most challenging. We will do this using the understanding of how our neurochemical brain states affect how we are feeling and reacting to the world around us.

In this 6 week workshop we will be diving deeper into a brain-state focused approach of coming out of overwhelm and creating safety in our nervous systems – as well as learning tools to gently process emotions and come out of emotional reactivity. 

We will be working with all emotions and emotional patterns that you have – from deep feelings of isolation, sensations of anger or rage, the sadness and pain of grief to despair, shame or fatigue.

You will learn why and how your brain encounters emotions and gets activated, and learn simple but very powerful tools to build more emotional capacity and resilience. 

I will create an empathic, gentle and loving space for this work. 

We will be going into a deeper understanding about how we have created emotional patterns and dysregulated nervous systems that respond to stress, panic, anger or other intense emotional experiences as though they are deep threats to our lives.

Curriculum – weekly topics & exercises

Session 1: Why are emotions so overwhelming?

What is happening in your brain when emotions activate? What is happening to your body and your nervous system?

In this session you’ll learn how to read your own body and nervous system to identify exactly what support you need to offer yourself. You will start to create a map of resources and support for yourself.

You’ll end this session with a powerful overview that will unlock your understanding of all of the emotional patterns that have stopped you living the life that you want.

Session 2: Powerful techniques for coming out of any overcoming state and how to retrain your nervous system to restore inner calm

When emotions haven’t felt safe to process through our bodies, or when we have lived in experiences of too much for too long, our nervous system gets stuck in the stress response of survival-mode. 

We want to release the tension in our bodies and complete the stress response cycle so that we can retrain our nervous system out of overwhelm. And we also want to restore inner calm and inner regulation when things feel too much.

This session will be a practical session of nervous system regulation exercises and somatic embodiment stress releasing techniques.

You will be learning and practising techniques that work with different sensations – from a desire to run, to a desire to shut down and hide, to the desire to argue or the compulsion to ‘people please’ and fix other people’s emotional experiences.

You’ll end this session knowing exactly what to do when overwhelm/survival mode hits. From panic or the mists of rage, total shutdown to endless frantic stressful busyness. Any and all overwhelming states will be covered.

Session 3: Emotional releasing: series of exercises

These sessions will start the work of moving emotions through our bodies. I will guide you through exercises related to integrating emotions through movement, felt sensation, physical support and self guidance. 

You’ll get a clear understanding of how to work with any emotion, and plenty of ideas on how to practice this between sessions. And you’ll learn how different techniques support different emotions. 

You’ll end this session knowing exactly how to support yourself to move any emotion through your body to release and integrate them.

Session 4: How to support other people’s emotional & survival responses

One of the most popular sessions as it’s all about transforming the texture of our relationships. 

  • You’ll learn what to do when you notice someone is in the thick of a survival or emotional activation. 

  • What to do when someone is ranting at you or terrified.

  • How to see what’s really happening when someone is moaning and complaining, shouting or totally withdrawn, panicky or full of endless sad stories. 

You will learn very practical tools to support people to help them move out of any overwhelm/survival state. 

You’ll also learn how to help people integrate any emotion – from rage to despair, shame to grief. And finally, you’ll learn how to support yourself so you don’t get activated into mirroring emotions. 

These skills will be transformative to all of your relationships.

If you are seeking more connection and emotionally safe relationships, where you feel more heard, seen and understood – this lesson give you the skills you need to transform your relationships. 

You’ll end this session knowing how to avoid emotional chaos that might have lasted days at a time. You can use these tools to repair emotional ruptures, become more emotionally connected to the people you love and bring emotional safety into all of your intimate relationships. 

Session 5: Core emotional healing. 

You’ll learn all about why emotions keep repeating, and how to trace them back to their original imprinting so you can work to release and heal them at their core. 

This will be a practical session where I will help you explore the deeper emotional patterns you are holding around everyday emotional activations. I will guide you through your own practice as well as do some emotional releasing of whatever you uncover. 

You’ll end this session knowing how to release the emotions from past experiences that are still trapped in your body. Which may be some of the most painful and challenging things you are carrying, and learn how to release them so you feel lighter and with less heavy emotional load. 

Session 6 – How to meet our unmet needs & Emotionally safe communication 

Our emotions have wisdom to share with us about the needs we have that are not being met.

Perhaps it’s anger from not speaking up, or sadness that has a need for more authentic connection, or frustration about a lack of us implementing boundaries. 

This session will explore the connection between needs and emotions, how to connect with your emotions to discover what needs they are trying to communicate and, most importantly, how to meet those needs in daily life.

We will explore common needs related to different emotions like shame, fear, despair, hopelessness and anger.

We’ll also be exploring how can we have discussions with people, sort out conflicts and communicate our needs in a way that is clear, empowering and doesn’t result in emotionally chaotic and confusing conversations? 

How do we bring our needs into conversations with people as well as be able to hear other people’s needs? 

In this session you’ll learn how to advocate for yourself and negotiate your needs with others, as well as how to give support through a needs based framework.

You’ll end this session having discovered how to compile your own personal guidebook on how to bring your needs front and centre into your own life so overwhelming emotions don’t need to activate. As well as having a framework for emotionally empowering conversations – to both state your needs and be heard, as well as be able to hear other people’s needs. 

This workshop will help you:

  • Explore and release the intensity of some of your most overwhelming emotions

  • Identify unhelpful emotional patterns – and how to process and integrate emotions 

  • Give you a unique understanding of why you are responding to situations, memories and experiences the way you are

  • Provide tools and a framework to work with your emotions in your everyday life

  • Provide a safe and understanding space for you to bring and share any experiences you wish

  • Give you tools to help you when other people are dysregulated or in deep emotional overwhelm. 

  • Simple, but powerful tools for you to use to create nervous system regulation and emotional processing outside of the workshop
